It’s the eagerly awaited final event of the season….the Player of the Year Awards. It’s a celebration of the Club’s activities; it’s an opportunity to recognise the talents of the players; it’s a great social night out where everyone gets dressed up, and parties…………

Saturday 15th June we returned to the very hospitable Motherwell Football Club, and celebrated the successes of season 2012-13.

The Awards.

The winner of the men’s first team award was outside spiker Ally Galloway. As Captain of the side Ally is expected to set an example for the rest of the troops – he did. In what was a difficult season Ally was resolute and determined…..and next year will be better.

The award for the best player from the Suettes was Kirsty McLean. Also playing as an outside hitter Kirsty dominated several of the key encounters during the season, and was always willing to support her colleagues.

The Su Ragazzi II award went to Marc McLaughlin. Marc had an outstanding season setting for the men II. His commitment and dedication to the pursuit of excellence are a shining example to everyone at the Club!

The ‘Club Award’ for someone who goes ‘above and beyond’ to help promote and develop the Club went to Jillian Galloway. Amongst other things Jillian is Captain of the Suettes, Club Treasurer, and a terrific role model for all of the younger players in the Club.

Well done to all of the award winners.

Congratulations are also due to Alex Dickenson, and Laura McReady who have been selected to play for Scotland in the SCD European Championship Finals in Malta at the end of the month. Well done to both. Well done also to Cammy Galloway and Matt Wedlock for all of their efforts in arranging the event, and thanks to all of the parents and friends who came along and supported the Club. See you in August when it all starts again.
